Pseudopterogorgia bipinnata

The Purple Sea Plume is a member of the gorgonian family. It needs good light and water movement. In fact, it should be bending over in the current. The polyps (not extended in this photo) are either white or brown. These corals are very top-heavy, so they must be epoxied to a rock. They are also very easily propogated and grow quickly in the right conditions.
