Porites lutea

This coral was acquired in May of 1999.

The name rock is really a misnomer - although it is attached to a rock, the worms are really growing out of a coral called porites.  The worms are dependent on the coral, as they feed off its mucous.  This coral must be kept in bright light with a high current flow in order to flourish.
